Why this firm exists
Most people put off estate planning because it feels formal, expensive, and a little intimidating. Hartwell Estate Law was founded in 2009 to make it the opposite: a calm, clear process that treats you like an adult and explains every decision in language you already use.
We are deliberately small. That means the attorney who meets you is the attorney who prepares your documents and answers your questions later. We keep our practice focused on estate planning, healthcare directives, probate, and business succession, so we do this work all day, every day.
How we work with families
We start by listening. Before we recommend a single document, we want to understand your family, your assets, and what matters to you. Then we explain the options, set a flat fee, and put the plan in place. You will never receive a surprise invoice or a bill measured in six-minute increments.

Clarity. If you do not understand part of your plan, we have not finished explaining it.
